Chocolate, Salted, Caramel Pretzel Bark

Kate loves making things for people, especially desserts. Several years ago, around the Christmastime, Kate wanted to make something for her teachers. We searched for an easy, yummy recipe and came upon an awesome treat called Chocolate, Salted, Caramel Pretzel Bark. If you haven't tried it yet please do! We tweaked the recipe a little bit and voilà!, a total snack sensation.

Somehow Hasbro, the toy company, found out about Kate's bark and wanted to place an order. They order 100 boxes to give out as gifts to their Christmas volunteers for all the hard work they do. It's their tradition to engage the special needs, disabled or other non-profit communities to supply these gifts.

We called our little enterprise 'Kate& Co'. It was a lot of fun and Kate really enjoyed the project. Because Hasbro headquarters is located in our state, we were able to go up to the corporate offices of Hasbro to personally deliver the order. What a reception they gave us! Kate's self esteem was sky-high and she walked away with two big bags of Hasbro products! We can't thank the Hasbro philanthropy team enough for their support and kindness.

It started out as a way for Kate to be creative, share her talents, feel appreciated and have fun. It turned into a whole lot more. When February rolled around on the calendar, the high school Junior class ordered 200 small boxes for their Valentine's Day fundraiser. Kate baked her little heart out and we packaged them into little boxes to use for candy-grams. They all sold out!

The holidays are coming soon and Kate is ready to make some bark! She'll personally deliver each and every box. Find something your child likes to do and turn it into a feel good moment for them. When your child feels like a million bucks, you feel like two million bucks!
